    Default foxtels encryption

    Hi all

When Foxtel finally changed from Ird1, did they ever use Ird2 or did they do a straight change to NDS from Ird1?

I come across a foxtel subby and when I read the details in FMCard it was telling me its a v4.1ird card? so thats why I'm asking if they chnaged straight from ird1 to nds or did they use ird2 as well

    cheers

Don't quote me on this, but i think fox used ird2 aka 'red' cards just after they stopped the goldies working and moved from ird1 sometime in 2003. It wasn't for long though as they started their 'digital' service in march 2004, and all the cards were swapped over.

thanks Keegs, I was always under the impression that they did a straight swap from ird1 to nds, but from what your saying and from the details of the sub it looks like an ird2....thanks heaps for clearing it up .
