I’ve just punched in my address (in Sydney) and the addresses of 14 family and friends (around metro and rural NSW). All locations indicate Optus 4G Home Internet is available. Obviously it’s not a scam if it is willing to connect me at 15 different, random addresses. It’s clearly an issue with your specific location.
So despite Optus not guaranteeing your internet speed, they (like all carriers) must have benchmarks they desire to meet.
From the information you have been given by Optus it’s reasonable to conclude the site that would cover your address is not considered by their systems to have sufficient capacity to supply you *on top* of their current subscriber base.
And yes, while you may be able to get mobile ‘4G’ internet there, their mobile internet is not intended to be an always on, fixed connection. This differs from their home ‘4G’ internet which is intended as an ‘always on’, fixed/stationary connection - likely a significant difference from a network capacity perspective.
Optus have never had a public representative on this forum. To demand that someone from Optus comes on here now, to answer your question that has been answered is, well, silly.
