Default Windows 10 app to password protect Windows Mail

    Hi all.

I've been searching for a Windows app/software which will allow me to stop unauthorised access to my wife's Microsoft Mail app.

I downloaded "My Lockbox" hoping it would work but for the life of me, I can't find the mail.exe file.

Does anyone have any other suggestion?

    Cheers

Thanks fantm666. i forgot to mention in my post that I was scouring the net for about half hour before posting and I saw the link you sent. still no luck after giving it another go and meticulously following the file path.

I also jumped on to Microsoft support page/forum and a guy from Microsoft posted a path which wasn't correct and another user replied saying "how can microsoft staff get it wrong" or something along those lines.

If this fails I don't know how else i can lock the mail app.

    Cheers

I'll suggest a completely different solution. What about a change of OS to Linux which can then set up many and varied secure accounts that only a sysadmin can access. What is the need to secure M$ mail, is this for work? There are other alternatives which may offer better security in WIndows.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Thanks for the suggestion but thats a no go. The various software packages needed for the business wont work on Linux.

One would think that Microsoft would have a simple program to list the apps and select which ones you want to lock/password protect. There is one i saw but haven't had a chance to download it yet. I'll try this afternoon.

Out of curiosity, which software packages are you referring to?

AFAIK, there is no standalone executable for the native win10 email client...search for 'Universal Windows Platform' for a better understanding here.

To do what you originally suggest here, would require the installation of a 3rd-party email client...ie; Thunderbird for windows

I've been searching for a Windows app/software which will allow me to stop unauthorised access to my wife's Microsoft Mail app.
This comes across to me as non-sequitur ...ie; incorrect windows setup/usage. Rationale: win10 is a multi-user OS, ergo your wife should have her own account/login credentials on said (apparently/obviously shared) computer, and it's these login credentials that secure you wife's access to the email functionality....ie; no parts (additional software) required -- just add an account for your wife. If I've misconstrued this, then you'd best better describe the situation =)

The software specific to her childcare business. Qikkids, ezidebit and a few more.

I think I'll have to bite the bullet and set up a separate account on the same computer.

I think so, or set up another user profile/account on the same computer

Thank you. You haven't misunderstood. Multiple use computer so I think I'll have to set up multiple accounts. Thank you for your advice
