    Default Goldie Drops out

I have a dreamax box with goldie.
Occasionally it will drop out with scrambled signal then come back on.
I have found the only way to fix it is program up a new card. Anyone else have this problem.
Also is there a way to give the goldie a full format to clean them??

    cheers

Just erase card, and start again... Simple.

there should be an erase crd script from the old goldie days, that will erase card, either that or just resend a new personal.crd with your details back to the card, should acheive same results.

If you got the "Ol Elvis Proggy and Multiprog software, just slip your goldie in it and hit the Autodetect button on Multiprog.
I guarantee that it will erase and clean whatever is on the card.
Other option to use Lmedit and hit the erase button.

You are correct. Goldies can lose the plot and give the scrambled message momentarily and then give pics again for a while, then lose it again.

I have found that about half of them can be re written successfully and continue giving great service. The balance are somehow damaged and are unusable.

I have seen this dozens of times - I liken this to the lifespan/behavior of a light bulb in explaining why a customer needs a new card.

Mostly occurs to cards over 12 months old and used continually. Todays white "goldies" don't seem to suffer this as much.
