I hate to bring up this old turkey, but 25-30¢ in a day????
FFS....

Regular occurrence in NSW.
Even before the Ukraine War.

One local privately owned servo changed their price 3 times in the same day.
Final price was the cheapest.
In Pakistan it went up the equivalent of 40cents in a week (where they only pay the equivalent of ~$1.20/litre)

It’s the ‘normal’ fuel price cycle. Just don’t try to understand it, or get anyone to explain it, because I don’t think anyone can make any sense of it. Pretty certain it’s all just based on the ‘vibe’…
Interestingly, for unleaded 95, as of 8am this morning there is a 61.1c difference in the cost of fuel across NSW.

I watch those YouTube videos too, but they get all sorts of things done, with what they've got!!!
Re: Petrol... Unless I'm mistaken, years ago, wasn't fuel costs in QLD much cheaper, because there was no TAX(?) on it or something?
Now, there seems to be little if any difference?? 15 or 18 years ago when in England, Diesel was very expensive over there, but I loved
my hire-car which was a 4 cylinder diesel 'Skoda' !! I would drive for say 900-kms, and think, "I suppose I should put some fuel in it!" haha.
It was so cheap to run!! Here, we have to stop aiming for large V8's & heavy 4-wheel drives, for simple commuting! Fact of life...
Ah-Those-Old-Days! (24-06-22)
Us poor Transport operators used to get 30c/l rebate on diesel, then it went to 16.5c/l.
Two months ago it was removed.
This, combined with the fuel price rise means effectively diesel has gone from $1/l to $2.30/l.
Thats why freight costs are so high.......
Combined with the shortage of drivers, wage increases and super increase its not fun.....

[QUOTE=Ah-Those-Old-Days!;859460]I always am amazed how compared to local inter/Aussie trade can cost so much, but often when ordering something from
say China, for even just say a $10 item, that there is ZERO freight charge, to get it to our door!!! ???[/QUOTE
When you already own the ship, the port, the storage AND the freight company it probably isn't that hard.

but Aust post is the last leg and we can barely post any parcel for $10!!

Plus the WTO still classifies China as a developing nation, and as such is therefore entitled to shipping cost relief (worldwide)...ie; to send a letter from CN to AU is a dollar, to send the same letter from AU to CN is nearly $2 ; this is purely because AU isn't considered a developing nation... =)

I'm aware this Post is a bit old now... but I would like to ask opinions about how this works, considering the last few replies???...
Someone in Australia, writes a 'Letter', which is posted to a private address in the UK for example. And we attach a 'Stamp' to it,
to supposedly cover the 'costs'. Now, in the UK, it moves between the various provinces/areas, and is finally delivered by their
local postman to that address. Where/how does the cross-border/country costs get imparted, for such a delivery, when all that
the 'sender' here did was put an Aussie 'stamp' on it?? Do Countries 'average' out the costs??? What if 'postage' was say 5 times
more in one direction than the other???
Yes, price in one direction is commonly cheaper than the other. That is how many Chinese drop shippers work,

Yup....also helps when you've got govt. sponsored boats/planes =) ...but back to topic...
When petrol got to $1/litre, that marked the time for me to get rid of the 5litre SB chevy, to get a 3litre i6 instead...
At the time, I said to myself "This should last me until petrol is $2/litre" ; I didn't realize how little time I had =)
By the time it got to $1.50/litre, I had done everything I could to improve fuel consumption...different cam grind, slightly longer intake runners, cold air intake setup, custom ECU chip and auto-trans TCU, slightly taller diff ratio, all the usual tricks, and got it from the stock 10~12klm/l out to a healthier (for my wallet =) 14~17klm/l ...it doesn't seem like much, but that's a reasonable gain...
Now...here we are, $2.20/litre, and it's time to get rid of the RB30 ...probably get a 2litre subie ; it will be my last car...
Thank fuk for that B^)

I've always like big sixes but in recent history have had smaller 4cyls because they were easier for SWMBO to get into. My current car is a Hyundai i45 premium and that averages around 6-7 L/100km. Given that I don't really "need" a bigger car. I'll run this one into the ground before I change over.
