Default Johnny Famechon: Boxing legend dead at 77

Australian boxing legend Johnny Famechon has died at the age of 77.

Having achieved the title of WBC Featherweight champion at age 24, he retired the following year after winning 56 of his 67 fights.

I remember watching his fights on TV.

    R.I.P. Johnny.

I was only a kid but I remember watching him fight Fighting Harada (I can’t remember which fight) on the telly too, I remember my father thought when he retired a few months later after being beat on points that he retired too early.
    RIP Champ

Johnny Famechon was a local from Edithvale/Aspendale, think he was a bit smarter than the average boxer. He took the money and ran
Johnny's brother in law was Stan Alves, also from above
Stan Alves was a VFL player (Melbourne)and a AFL coach (?)
There is a fine line between "Hobby" and "Madness"

Stanley Alves won a flag with North in 77....coached St Kilda....
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
