    Default I'm back....sort of

If this post works it'll be a minor miracle. I'm now at my son's in Darwin for the month. When I packed my bike to go, I omitted room for my usual lappy so I pressed a small Atom powered device into service as it would fit into my tank bag. It works OK for some things, as long as I don't press it. Surfing the net, unfortunately is a hit and miss affair. So far I read two threads about Judith Durham and Olivia Newton John, tried to reply to both and both failed. Lappy seized up solid yesterday and today it just chucked me out of my browser

Son just came home and tested positive for that thing that's going around! So am now in isolation for another week! He has, at least, found a spare laptop that has a little more grunt than the little thing I brought. I currently typing this from a live session whilst transferring files across. So, soon I shall have some semblance of "normality". As long as the power does not go out, I shall be fine! (battery *@#^%ed!

Sending lappy home with Son tomorrow, so will be offline until I gt there late next week. We've had a great time in Darwin despite the reason for the visit. Now it's time to return everyone to their respective homes. See Ya!

So Darwin to SA on your bike at 200+ KPH is not going to take that long.
Where else are you going ?

He has a tentative appointment to be at Federation Square on AFL Grand Final evening to streak at least one lap, maybe two….
    Cheers

This explains why he is taking the slow way home.

Hi hunny, I'm home! I wish my bike would do 200KPH! At 120kph it gets very thirsty top speed is only around 160! I generally cruise at around 100-110. At that speed, range is only around 250km. Best I ever did was 314km following a road train in from Katherine (slip streaming most of the way). Worst was 240km heading from Coober Pedy to Glendambo (running at 120-130kph) with a head wind.

I'm happy in that the return trip only took 3 days (I try not to ride at night). Day1 -Darwin to Attack Creek, Day 2 -Marla Bore - then home. I froze from Attack creek all the way home. It was 15C and raining in Tennant Ck and hardly got above that all the way though the rain only lasted until Barrow Ck. I did hear that Barkly Homestead copped it rather badly though and, according to the news tonight, Birdsville also copped a bit of rain. Coming out of Glendambo I took a wrong turn and nearly found my self heading to Oodnadatta, which, had the weather been warmer, I might have done so, but turned around (after seeing the sign on the edge of 'town') to head home.

As for Federation Square I shall resort to last year's jaunt!
