    Default Old DVB-S STB's

Hello, Im having a cleanout of the garage.

I have many old receivers from the "good ole days" of goldies etc. (havent looked at anything related, well, when everything stopped.

I know everything has gone to MPEG4, H264/265 etc so the old MPEG2 equipment, I would say is basically useless.

So, my question, are they useless?

If so, they are going on the trailer.

    Thanks

..there are some projects out there involving hacked firmware, but it's non-trivial and only for specific devices.

The above is about how 'useful' hardware components are, but as mentioned (everywhere), straight to ewaste is the normal progression =)

Technology always on the move. Just about anybody here has decades old equipment gathering dust.
For your nearest E-Waste drop off, contact your local council.

Many local councils charge for ewaste dropoff, best bet is to wait until they have free dropoff

I have at lease 8 Galaxy Pace GT (think its GT) 400 boxes with PICS Inside. I know a dude that has over 50 of them, all with pics inside all set on different channels and the RF was modulated to his system, worked good because the old days, all in the tip today but for me I will keep them just for MEMORIES LOL.
