Default Back to the Moon ...50 years late.

...better late than never, even if it is just for crash test dummies but if this goes wrong then it will probably take many years more.

    Was originally planned for 2016:

So this is the most important 'first step' ...fingers crossed.

Live stream just in case somebody wants it:

Last minute issues, hydrogen leaks are always a problem.

Successfully achieved the 17th FAILED attempt.

Too expensive, too many complicated procedures, TOO MANY TEAMS ----> too much goes wrong.
Again one can not praise the abilities of the engineers enough, 50 YEARS ago with slide rulers and a rope memory computer with 0.032 MB of RAM, clocked at 0.043 Mhz.

Two trailed and tested Falcon Heavy rockets would have actually got done the job years ago for a fraction of the cost but the bureaucrats didn't want to hear about that.

The west threw space away even before Apollo was finished.

Too many short sighted and power hungry people wanted their fingers in the fiscal pie and kiboshed the whole thing. Still happens every day.

And yes Fester, what was accomplished was remarkable.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in space rather than in space wishing you were on the ground.

We've learn this lesson before. Everything is 100% or it's a no go.
One doesn't release the brakes on a $10 billion piece of equipment unless they know exactly how it will perform.
Yes I am an agent of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial.

The problem is the $10 billion... yet still not capable of fitting a fuel line after 50 years.

Nope I would not want to leave the ground on that thing either.
