Default Bosch B426 not holding config updates

I've just moved into a house with a Bosch Solution 3000 + B426 (or B426-M, not sure yet) and noticed the B426 had some old firmware.

I can connect to the B426 via the Ethernet, but whenever I change a setting (eg. even Unit Description) and click 'Save and Execute' I get good confirmation messages on the browser, but the settings don't stick, they just go back to the old settings.

The main setting I'm trying to change is to enable firmware updates, but can't get the "Yes" setting to stick.

I've tried various browsers on both Mac and Windows systems, all with the same issue.

Any tips/tricks to getting B426 config settings via a browser to stick ?

PS - anyway to confirm a B426 or B426M from the web interface, or do I need to open the panel?

    Thanks.

Don't recommend trying to update firmware.
Alot of other people have tried and end up bricking the unit.

The only way to tell is by looking at the board.

You shouldn't need to access the unit as there is not much you need to do with them. Just done by programming the alarm.

    Thanks, that's concerning.

Thanks. A lot of into, pointers, suggestions - good and bad in those threads.

    Cheers.
