i could only suggest resetting your folder options to default.
my "open with" choice for drives is none.
if that helps
I've got a strange problem with Explorer, if I double click My Documents it will open as normal however if I try the same on 'C' or 'D' drive in My Computer it brings the popup screen asking me what program I want to open it with. How do I fix this?
cheers

Have you tried rebooting
What happens if I press alt + F4?
Yeah, I tend to think there is a little more to it. May have been some type of virus. Even when I try to change the folder options they won't change. Strange cause I just reinstalled a clean installation of windows on the machine, although I left 'D' drive intact. Perhaps I need to wipe everything.
can you right click on your drives and explore?
What happens if I press alt + F4?
Nope, if you click on open, explore etc it would just come up with the popup box, what program do you want to open with. Then of course explorer isn't one of the options and even when you browse to it the check box to always use this program is greyed out.
Also, every folder I do open, opens a new window. Even when I try turning it off in the folder options. Tried turning it on and then off a couple of times. Makes no difference.

i had the same problem once ...
i rolled the computer back a week and that fixed it
tools, folder options, general,
open each folder the same window.
Hopefully, in theory

Yeah tried that, didn't work. Not to worry. Will put up with it at the moment and start all over again in a couple of weeks when I get back from holidays.
