    Default Microsoft sign in problem

I've just discovered I can't sign in to my Microsoft account. It says I need the consent of a parent or guardian. I've never had trouble signing in before.
It appears they think I'm now underage. at 66.

I tried ringing Microsoft only to find you can't talk to them on the phone anymore, they are online they say.
I went to Microsoft forums/chat rooms but can't submit a question without signing in .... great !
Rang a local computer shop he tried but couldn't help.

It appears I'm totally stuck. Can't sign in, can't get help from Microsoft.
    Talk about frustrating.

    Any ideas ?

P.S. The sign in email and password is not the problem.

What is so special about a M$ account? I've never used, or needed one. Even less so these days as windows is only on a couple of my computers because of a piece of fruit that I inherited.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

Unfortunately none of that is any help to me.

Yep, been there. It also wants a sign in.
Any sign in attempts gives me the following (pic) and if I click "I'm a parent or guardian" it circles back to sign in and then that pic again.

It's driving me around the bend. I was using Microsoft link to windows on my phone and now the phone keeps getting notifications for me to sign in as well.
(Link to windows is a PC app to view phone messages etc and some minor interaction with the phone)

Not sure if it's connected, but there's a Microsoft account phishing hack targeting businesses across the world with authentic-looking landing pages that, in reality, just steal sensitive data.

Absolutely.... this is M$' reaction to the upcoming changes in China's PIPL SCCs, which afaict were announce in April and come into effect June 1st.

I didn't read up hard on it (I don't use Bill's curse), but it seems like this is also locale/region based as well.

It's not much help, but you're using one of the most insecure operating systems out there, and this is the cost =^/

I have no trouble with Microsoft at all with appropriate protections. Although I can't even remember IF I have a Microsoft account or what it is. I don't log on to Microsoft, or Google or anything unless I have to for a particular reason. Pretty rare.

Look, it may sound a little drastic, but why don't you hit it with a hammer and do a system restore from a restore point BEFORE the trouble.....

Do you take backups? (you should) Regardless of the system you use.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

I've tried to sign in on other computers and my phone so restore won't help. The problem has to be at Microsoft's end.

Unfortunately any attempt to sign in asks for a parent or guardian to also sign in.

Hidden in plain sight. It appears Microsoft changed my date of birth to the current date, which means I would never have gotten old enough to be an adult.
    Anyways, fixed now.
