RC Truck Lights Question
Brought the grandkid a new RC Truck and all is fine, now he wants lights on it
I got some diodes and connected them to the deans connector on the truck (7.2V Nmih) so when u plug the battery in the lights are on all the time
All good but he noticed even if the battery is disconnected if u push the truck along the ground the Diodes Light Up.
We ran it for about 20 min with the lights on and everything seem ok but I am just wondering if it can cause any damage to the electronics.
It is running a brushed motor, can this generate power when pushing it ?
Thanks Thomo

Really depends on how many LEDs you've used, and how they're connected (parallel/series), and what value current limiting resistor(s) have been used ...and as you said 'electronics' and LEDs are that, and failure to limit current/voltage feeding them leads to early LED death...then, yes, incorrect fitment of LEDs can mostly damage them, but not anything else connected to the battery.
Yep, a brushed motor is aka permanent magnet motor, and when driven turn into generators =)
the leds are these 12v so I think resistors are built in and I connected them in Parallel, 6 in total
thanks Thomo
