Default AFL 2023 Finals - Week 4 Grand Final Tipping Results - Winner is Johnno Carlton

The sleepless nights are over, the incessant "will I or wont I" is over and the boozy afternoon lunches are over (well maybe not), another year of pointless tipping is over, and we are left with Johnno as our tipping champion for 2023.
Yes, I know, it leaves a bitter taste in our mouth, but we are going to have to wear it I suppose (sorry for the mixed metaphor) so, congratulations Johnno, this years winner with a pitiful 149 tips out of a total of 218 for the year, that's a 68.35% success rate, not exactly a stellar performance, but then again, still enough to beat the rest of us deadbeats...
Well done my friend, and well done to harryt who managed only one doofus round for the year.
But the real sticking point for me is the fact that even though he slept half the season Rip van Xplorer still rolled me by 4 tips, I think its time for retirement, so Xplorer, you have to retire
Of course, in typical Victorian fashion the Live cams at Fed Square still haven't been repaired following last year's vandalism, but there were several reports of a pair of naked prunes streaking around the square, but nobody seemed to care, the Pies had won.
See you all next year guys and beware the boozy afternoon lunch, they can be devastating...

Once again, a huge thank you to Al for the time and effort you put into the tipping.

Somewhat less effort required (fortunately) than the previous couple of seasons with all the changes/updates due to covid.

    Well done to Johnno!

If Al is crazy enough to take it on again next season.... I look forward to catching up with you all.

Whaddaya mean "well done to all"? Another sanctimonious pies supporter....jeeez.

Still, given that the pies avarage has been one win every 22 years since 1958, we can all look forward to the next 20 odd years or so. Small comfort, but it will have to do I suppose.....

I did have a 22-page speech prepared for the occasion. Missus said bad idea. JC (johnnoCarlton) is what she calls me nowadays.
Had to keep it simple. lol. 3 in a lifetime, I feel spoiled.

    Congratulations to the winner!

Well done and Thank you Al for your commentary and banter and all that time you put into the AFL tipping for us tykes.

Unfortunately or fortunately me and wifey were 4 and a half weeks in Italy.

Decided we had had enough and exhausted ourselves with the last Qantas flight direct from Rome to Perth for this year. A rather meagre 15 hour flight at 14,000 km.

    Now time for the rest!

    Ciao.

Congrats to Johno, and again a big thanks to Al.

Yes, I've been on/off missing in action this year; much like my Blues team who still can't understand there are 4 quarters in a game.

Sorry Al, no retirement for me just yet.

Alright, who is the cruel bastard who threw cold water on Rip van Xplorer?

A bit early whoever it was… Another 5 months before he has to come out of hibernation again.

Hmmm. Someone with a slightly red face I'm guessing.
I'll have to start setting my alarms for 5 months time, then have on repeat for every Thursday. Now I'm a little red faced.
