Default How can i stop Edge/bing from opening when PC starts ?

I've googled this a lot and going round in circles looking for an answer of which all suggest checking the startup menu and folder, there is nothing in these for either program and i cant find where /how to stop it.
Unfortunately you cant uninstall Edge which is BS as i never use it.

I run edge in Windows 10. Use it a lot. No problem. It doesn't start when I boot the system.

    Dunno why yours does.
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.

You can select which apps run/don't run at startup.

    Settings > Apps > Startup

Also, select a different web browser as the default if you don't wish to use Edge.

Problem is edge doesnt appear in any of the startup menus or folders so cant just stop it like you would other apps, i have a feeling its something to with bing which i also dont like and again there is nothing in the startup menu or folder to disable it.
Already have firefox as the default like i have for the last 15 years or so.

    Safe......

You can disable Edge by changing the Edge folder name in the “system apps” tab on Windows 11.

    Not so safe....

    1

Open Settings. Press “Windows logo key + I” on your keyboard to open “settings.” Select “recovery.”

    2

    Restart Your Computer. ...

    3

    Click “Troubleshoot” ...

    4

    Choose “Safe Mode” ...

    5

Open the Windows Command Prompt. ...

    6

Open the List of Edge Folders. ...

    7

    Remove the Edge Folders.

    Haven't tried this one....

f you don't want Microsoft Edge to start when you sign in to Windows, you can change this in Windows Settings.

    1. Go to Start > Settings .

    2. Select Accounts > Sign-in options.

    3. Turn off Automatically save my restartable apps when I sign out and restart them when I sign in.

It will need to be redone after every major update....

I hate it, I hate dictators programs like EDGE. I made a New Folder on my desktop with a insulting name and put edge in it stuck under RECYCLING BIN down the bottom left of the screen.
