unless you de-zed that box with a z-board you will not be able to flash it with anything as it is a z model
I have problem with the firmware upgrade. I have connected the IR-5410Z to the PC, (null modem connection allright communication good between the devices) and I used almost all posible combination of uploader/builders from with no luck. (maybe I am missing something)
My unit Status info are as follows:
H/W ver. OAK II-L 2.0
S/W ver. AZIR 1.05.03
Device driver ver. AZIR 1.05.03
S/W last update 25 Mar 2002
Loader Ver 5.15.12.16003
System ID 0103.0600
Could anyone help what I am doing wrong?
Thanks!

dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
Thanks.
Actually what I am tring is to adjust the freq/SR/and FEC to OPTUS D2, but still I do not have Sig Quality at all. The box was working fine with OPTUS B3,
I followed the instructions changing the freq, SR and FEC but looks like the system is locked to the old parameters. The SQ did not move from "0" the signal strenght is at 100%
This is the reason I wanted to upgrade the firmware
double check the settings you entered
UBI
freq =12394
polorisation = H
SR 22500
FEC 3/4
GlobeCast TV
freq =12706
polorisation = v
SR 22500
FEC 3/4
if you have put them in correctly and still have no signal level then the wok is not looking at the right bird
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it
I have the same box and firmware here. When they changed from B3 to D2 no setting change or dish realignment was needed. All I had to do was a manual scan with network scan set to yes of the following frequancy. That would reload all the gloabcast channels in one go on there new frequancies.
freq =12706
polorisation = v
SR 22500
FEC 3/4
And then just press ok for a quick channel list then press menu and then delete to delete the unwanted current selected channel.
It was very easy for me. I don't see why people are finding it so hard to rescan the new frequancies back into there decoders.
Thanks again. I wish I did not move the wok at all.
Anyway, I try to point it again to the right bird... looks like a lot of birds are there, my hummy shows Signal strength in any direction I am pointing the dish. Is there an easy way locating OPTUS D2??
Secondly, do you know a way I can reset the Hummy to its factory default with the front buttons/remote.
Thanks again for your help.
I am having the same problem as nemesis. I put in the new freq and did a manual search found all the channels and everything was sweet, i then deleted all the channels so i could do a fresh search. But now i cant do the search again because there is no signal with the new freq or old freq.
This is really stupid >_<
My grandparents have got the same box and i've been trying to re-config but getting nowhere. Here's what I'm doing, correct me if i'm doing anything wrong -
- Installation
- Service Searching
- Manual Search
Antenna Alternative: Optus B3
Frequency: 12706
Polarisation: Vertical
Symbol Rate: 22500
FEC: 3/4
Network Search: Yes
Automatic Skip: No
And I always get the same message after about 2 seconds -
Error
Service search failed (tuning fail)
Please, what the hell am I doing wrong???????
Oh and does it need to have a card in it???
no,you don't need a card .Have you got signal strength and quality?disable Networksearch and Autamatik skip to Yes
Is something dezeded if it has
Cam TOH 3.4
Erou chip ver NEC v2.1
HW ver oakI&II 2.1
sw ver HIC 1.05.00+
Dev driver ver HIC 1.05.00+

from what I have seen there need to be a board that connects to the d connector on the main board. these humax's are still a mystery to me.
Leroy
I also have a Humax 5410Z and I am curious as to what I might be able to do with this.
Going through the STB menu's I found the following:
STB Status
Hardware Ver. OAK 11-L 2.0
Software Ver. AZIR 1.05.03
Device Driver Ver. AZIR 1.05.03
Software last Update 25 March 2002
Loader Version 5.15.12.16003
System ID 0103.0600
Conditional Access - Version Info.
Soft Cell: Ver2.10
Euro 1-Chip Version: NEC V2.1
I have had this from new sometime in 2002 and have never done any mods on this - Has been a great box.
Any potential to do any nice things.
Was also wondering if I can add this to a cardsharing group like what can be done with Dreamboxes?
1: what is it you actually want to do
a: if you live in Australia it makes no real difference if it's de-zedded or not as the main reason used to be so one could run patched firmware and install rolling keys.
2: to de-zed a unit it is not a job for one faint of heart and no real knowledge of very fine soldering.The molex install is a very tight small 4 row by 12 pins per row job and thats an easy one , if the molex area has resin on it then i have seen many get killed by cutting a contact while attempting to remove the resin.
I must to do more research and see if Dezeding my Humax will be of any use.
Was thinking of using this with Grey Wolf for doing the card updating stuff but it seems with Grey Wolf Midnight I do not need this any more.
Apart from the above and maybe learning on the way that is all I probably need.
Yes I am in Australia so maybe I should leave this Humax alone and move on to something else.
i can de "z" a humax
or supply Zboards
send me a pm and ill give you a price
