Dear all,

I am hoping someone can help me. Today I purchased a Uniden Trax430 GPS and I connected it via USB cable to my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop to update the maps from the Uniden site.

I installed the TraxCentral software and the problems started after I rebooted. I cannot open any programs at all on my laptop. Anything I try to do brings up a message saying I am not authorised to do whatever it is I am attempting to do. It even tells me I am not authorised to shut down my computer! I have to do a hard shutdown.

I tried starting it in Safe Mode but it won't even do that. It starts going through the process (after hitting the F8 key at start up) but then abandons the Safe Mode process and goes on to a full start up, not Safe Mode - very strange.

I have attempted several reboots but to no avail.

Has this happened to anyone else, by any chance? Any clues you can give me to correct this problem would be very much appreciated as I cannot use my laptop at all at the moment.
