There is just no such thing as customer service anymore, and business wonder why they go broke

The so called manager of Beaurepaires Palmerston (NT) has just lost another customer!
I dropped off a tyre to be repaired on Saturday morning. They informed me that it would not be ready until 1330 on Monday. The young staff member took my telephone number with the instruction to call me if the tyre was irreparable. At 1630 today, I found that said tyre has not been touched. The manager refused to replace the tyre whilst I waited and after initially claiming he knew nothing about replacing it or calling me, he then went on to claim that he did try to ring me. There were/are NO CALLS from the store recorded on my telephone and the number on the sticker was correct. In the end I accused him of lying and insisted that he replace the tyre whilst I waited. I rapped my hand on the counter to enforce my point. At this stage he became agitated and suggested I take my tyre elsewhere. I will happily oblige and take all FUTURE business to their opponents no matter where my vehicles are in Australia.

I thought they had gone bust? The local outlet closed a few weeks ago after some fifty years in the same location.
Not that it maters, but my story was erroneous (i.e. I lied) I dropped the tyre off on Friday morning. Maybe someone should rant about me!![]()

Doesn't surprise me...aren't they a franchise these days?
The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
An attempt to sell the business fell through maybe some of the bigger franchisee will stay open a little longer. Eventually they'll shut as the company has gone bust.
My personal opinion.....get a tyre repair kit and DIY.
It takes less than a minute to fix once the wheel is off the car.
In many cases where its a front tyre im so lazy that we roll the car forward till we find the nail and i do it on the car with the steering locked over.
Ah workshops....dont get me started.....
I agree Godz, The problem being that my tyre repair kit is 2000 miles away and that it was a HUGE tek screw which I was unsure wuld affect the integrity of the tyre.
The day after I dropped it off I had to organize a couple of tyres for the trailer just to get it home. Ted's tyres in Winnellie sorted my issue on the spot so when I got they tyre back from Beaurepaires I took it straight down there, again, sorted on the spot. Beau said, new tyre needed, however TED repaired it with no issues!!
Service and staff were like chalk and cheese!!!!
