Defaulting a 236
I have got a new customer who has a 236V2 with no known codes. System looks ok (even though it is a C&K) I cannot default using the solder pads and I think it is locked out. Customer cannot afford a new system at this time. Any help appreciated

first try total downpower battery & a/c then power up and see if default program code now works
if not you need a second chip you know the programming code to and you take downpower out the original chip put in the chip with the known programing code reprogram i think location 00 with your new programming code downpower and swap chips or replaced version 2 chip temporarily with a version 1 chip do the short and then replace chips

A Large IC is socketed to the top middle ISH of the board from memory (havent seen one in 5 yrs), this will have to be "hot chipped" to enable the default function, some were soldered v3 / some were socketed
have you tried default 012345 *0# ?
I despise companies / techs who "lock" others out, its a pain.
