AMD build

HI guys

I am looking to upgrade my tied old pc, it is a HP Elitedesk 800 G1 /w 8gb ram and 256gb hdd, am using Linux as OS and will with the new one. I have been out of the loop for many years so not so sure on which AMD parts to choose, am not a gamer and not much high-end work too but would like it to be a good responsive bang for buck build.

I don’t know whether $600 is enough but a good motherboard would be a great start and then I could upgrade around it later, a fast nvme pci-e drive would be nice too
