Foxtel with one cable.

I have just moved into an apartment and have be a long term Foxtel subscriber and was able to move my subscription.

The unit is connect to foxtel and terrestrial with a digitek dms35 which has the sat signal fed to it with the vertical and horizon on separate inputs. and also the terrestrial signal on another input. This has four outputs.

My problem is there are only 2 wall outputs in the house. one in a bedroom and the other in the lounge room. If i connect both of these to the foxtel box all is ok. However im trying to avoid the 15m cable run from the lounge to the bedroom.

If i use a splitter and connect both outputs to the foxtel box some channels dont work. However depending on the channel if is disconnect one of the inputs on the foxtel box the channel will work.

Ive tried both input voltage pass thorough and just single input voltage pass through splitters. All the channels im interested are on Horizontal transponders.

Is there some way of using just one cable split someway to the foxtel?

You can't use splitters.

I'm guessing the cabling was installed when Foxtel decoders only had a single tuner.

Foxtel decoders need both a horizontal and vertical connection, so your only option is to add the additional cables from the multiswitch to the wall plates.

You other option may be to switch to Foxtel over broadband internet.

Yeah i thought that might be the case, building was built in 2005. Satplus sells a isolation A/B switch which will do the job for me because if i cut the signal off to tuner 1 the other channels work, its only one channel i watch ill need to use the switch for. Not ideal but it will work. Foxtel over IP is not my cup of tea.
