All Coax run quad shielded RG6 all phone and data run Cat6. Keep coax and data at least 100mm away from power cables and never run them parallel with power cables.

Some of the coax and data cables have to run parallel with power cables in order to get them from upstairs to downstairs distributor box, will this be a problem?

Can I cover the cables with insulation blanket (foil type)???

If they have to run parrallel then make as short a lenght as possible and as far apart as possible. There are circuilating electro magnetic fields around power cables that will cause interferance (noise) on your data and coax.

Mechanical separation, i.e Conduit or even better if you can make another penetration 100-200mm away from the power feed upstairs.

As for Ideas, bring all your wiring to one central location, TV, Data, Telephone etc. There are modular systems on the market that allow you to distribute TV, Pay TV, IR, Audio, Data, Telephone etc, handy when you want to punish the children, just disconnect their TV, Data and Phone feed from the distribution box.

They fit in a wall panel, can be recessed and locked. Always good to service from rather than crawling into the roof to find the TV splitter etc. And being modular, you can build it as your budget allows, provided you have run all your cables in first.

Recent job I did for a mate was similar. Ran all the cables, every room was "Technology Ready". Cables sit in the wall behind blank plates and in the wall cabinet. When he gets a little more money together then I can terminate the various services for him.

so plastic conduit can help to shield data and coaxial cables if they are close to power cables?

should I run cat6 cable or will cat5 be enough?

    many thanks.

Always use the highest grade cables practicable. Cat6 is the go.

i really wouldnt worry that much about shield, only in certain circumstances run them through a conduit if they are too close to power cables.

dont stress to much about it

cables are shielded in their own enclosures, if you run phase 3 power you might need to run data cables away from this type of power cable. Otherwise you have no issue. Too many myths.

Just for those that don't know

Cat 5e can handle gigabit LAN. The only difference between 5e and 6 is the bandwidth.

    Cat 5e 1000Mbps @ 100mhz
    Cat 6 1000Mbps @ up to 250mhz

As urban soulja said save the money for beer after the install
