I'd go for the bigger unit, it's also marginally quieter. Given that it's a permanent fixture it may also be a better selling point if you ever decide to move.
Hi All
I am going to install a ducted vacuum system because I am a little sick of the vacuum i currently have and have decided on an electron however i am unsure what one to go with
I am tossing up between the EVS 2707 and the EVS 2808
the EVS 2707 has the following specs
Diameter of Motor mm = 145
Air Watts = 610
Airflow l/s (max.) = 54
Sealed Vacuum mm H2O (max.) = 3250
RPM @19mm working orifice = 23600
Label Rated Electrical Watts = 1700
Noise Level dbA with Silencer @ 3m = 73.0
Cost = $705 (power unit only)
the EVS 2808 has the following specs
Diameter of Motor mm = 183
Air Watts = 700
Airflow l/s (max.) = 56
Sealed Vacuum mm H2O (max.) = 3480
RPM @19mm working orifice = 21500
Label Rated Electrical Watts = 1800
Noise Level dbA with Silencer @ 3m = 72.5
Cost = $805 (Power unit only )
Is the suction improvement enough to justify the additional $100?
My understanding is the 2808 also has an industrial motor

I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
Ok sounds good i will get that one.
I currently have a Dyson and I am really disappointment with it. it fills up quickly, It clogs up if you suck up anything bigger than a grain of sand. and its because the neck of the inlet narrows and turns 90 degrees with a small opening making things that a decent vacuum should be able to ingest not possible.
The ball part of the dyson gets stuck on everything, it rolls around and even goes upside down when you pull it. just get a little sick of it. additionally it makes a lot of noise and when the cleaner is here while i'm working its fairly disruptive.
The design im using i have a shed thats butted up against the outdoor entertainment area (there is the required minimum gap for expansion etc, that's where the power unit will be going. there will be outlets in there for cleaning cars etc as well as outlets in the house, probably 3 in the shed and 2 or 3 in the house. i may or may not put in accessories. I have read you can put in counter top things to clean up powder spills etc.
It also removes one big appliance from the home.
