not familiar with the atlas PSU but rv1 in a switchmode PSU is generally a MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) or similar transient suppression device (surge protector)

Post a pic or whats printed on the package to make sure

if its in parallel with the AC supply and is breaking down under normal AC voltage you could try removing it

    regards...

Smile TVR 14621 Metal Oxide Varistor

    - TVR 14621

OK to remove it to test if anything else wrong with power supply, only used as over voltage protection.

    circuits for ABS-6G76, 8776, 9876

is the RV1 located the same position as the MOV in these circuits - RV10 on the 6G76

MOVs are manufactured in different packages and don't necessarily look like a blue HV ceramic cap etc

notice the circuit symbol for the MOV - 2 forward facing zeners connected together

    regards...

Sorry just got my internet connection back! Spot on Mysterex RV10 is across L11 so it looks like a z31045ul MOV so it a voltage protection device may be the coil L11 is faulty? look like just some filtering before it goes into the rectifier. Thanks for the schematics at least iv go somthing to work with now. Thanks again Mysterex and vrsim
