    Default Mesh insect radiator screen.

    Hi everybody,

My wife and I do some country driving and we have some issues with bugs and insects getting embedded in the fins of the radiator.

We have a 2023 Kia Sportage. Just wondering short of mucking around with screen and mesh ourselves that will hold can anybody suggest where to buy some screen protection covers.

I have only really seen like radiator replacement parts and not actually a insect protective screen.

    Thanks in advance.

I just put flyscreen across the front of the radiator but, TBH have not done so in centuries (at least not this one) I do travel the outback quite a bit and at night. Never had any real problem with radiator overheating owing to bugs. You can always flush it out after a run, if you are concerned.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...

I just use fly wire... non-metalic type and cable tie it to the grille.

Wouldn't metallic fly screen protect the radiator/AC-condensor also from impacting stone damage ?

From personal experience that would be my primary concern, not insects.

As the grille is usually made from plastic these days there would be no electrolysis issues causing corrosion.

I think stones large enough to do radiator/AC-condensor damage would also likely get through metal fly wire.

You're absolutely correct with plastic grilles these days... it's not a corrosion issue, but more that the metal screen wire scratches the crap out of them.
