Yet another year gone by....it's hard to fathom some times. It was 1997 when I started this website and changed it's name in the early 2000's. Incredibly some people from those times are still here, sadly many members have passed away in that time. It's hard to believe we are still open given that social media now rules the internet and peoples lives. But there is still a percentage of people that prefer the closer comradery of a forum.
I do need to make some changes to Austech this year. We urgently need to undertake some major work which is now beyond my ability, so I will have to start saving to employ someone to do it. We will be moving to a smaller hosting platform in the coming year to save money as we currently barely pay the bills, but I can assure you it wont be cheap and nasty shared hosting and will just be a newer more affordable VPS (Virtual Private Sever) like that we are currently on. We have been on our current VPS for 7 years now and it has been extremely reliable, but like everything it needs either refurbishment or replacement.
I would like to thank those who are Premium Members and make a once a year $20 contribution to our finances. Without you Austech would not be here as we have no other income. I would like to also thank all Austech staff for their assistance, and in particular I would like to thank mtv for his outstanding contribution to the running of the site.
I hope to see you all back here in the New Year, hopefully discussing what electronic item you scammed out of your family as a present.
Cheers
Austech
Acknowledgement of Country - As a proud Australian man of the Victorian people with ancestry in the Tasmanian, New South Wales and South Australian tribes I would like to acknowledge the contribution made by my ancestors on the land on which we meet today. Although not the inventors of a hollow stick, a bent stick and a straight stick I would like to pay my respects to their dedication and hard work in making this country what it is today.

I'll just echo admins comments, in particular a huge thank you to our Premium Members whose contribution is the difference of Austech existing and not existing.
There's a link in my signature below how you can help keep Austech going.... please consider.
I wish all our members a joyous festive season and a safe and prosperous 2025.
Please consider Premium Membership. Without Premium Member contributions Austech cannot operate.
Hello All

I like your "acknowledgement of.......BS" much better than the usual BS that is spouted! Thank you admins for keeping this place friendly and informative! To all those who have found this place helpful, please consider a premium membership! I live on a pension, but, if I can afford the small cost of helping keep this place alive, I'm sure that there are many other people here, who could also help.
I'm out of my mind, but feel free to leave a message...
