Default Dipping my toes in VAST

    Hi All,

Im a long time out of the TVRO thing.

Just bought (cheap) a VAST system.

Set it up and did a rehit on the card and have SBS & ABC & NITV & GOD channels.

    Whats the secret in getting 7, 9 & 10?

    Thanks

    Porkop

You probably have to get the registered owner of the box to contact vast administration and transfer the box to you .

Maybe contact vast administration by phone yourself and ask for their direction and assistance.

The type of registration that you are entitled to (either permanent or as a traveller registration) depends on your home address
to see if you are eligible to receive all commercial channels with vast on a permanent registration.

Go to the My Switch website , enter your address on the map page and the website will tell you if you are eligible for vast because you live in a TV black spot and won't receive acceptable reception .

    Good luck with it
    Andy

Basically Andy, I bought the system from when/if I go camping away from the world. It would be spasmodic and not continual. I will call them and have a chat.

Only cost me $100 so I cant complain, came with dish/tuner/finder/card/cables

    That's a good price mate
I have 3 vast boxes, 2 are registered to my home address as permanent (I live in a black spot ) and the other is registered in my daughters name as a traveller set box and so it has to be redone every six months on a temporary registration .
If you contact vast administration they will want to know the card and setbox number ( they are the same ... ie married in the factory ) as well as the registered owners name .
I bought a second hand box recently from a motel in Qld and the owners helped with the registration transfer by ringing vast administration and cancelling their registration and she then rang me after this was done and the box was registered to my name and address to replace an original uec 4121from 2012 that died.
I was lucky that my address is a permanent registration address .
Maybe the person that you bought the box from could help you with the transfer if it is registered in their name... if not then contact vast administration, they are usually pretty helpful.
    Cheers Andy

If you try to register as a home address, you'll be declined (as you have terrestrial signals available in your area).

    Register as a traveller.

You have to renew the registration periodically as a traveller, but that's just ticking a box, basically.
