If you got the file from the proper source the userguide.pdf with password is in the zip file.

I had to go find the user guide in program files. I would have thought it would put a shortcut onto the desktop.

Can you connect to a V5 panel using Insight and a port 0 lead or do I have to use a uart board?
Insight is compatible with version 5 firmware, it however, can allow you to enrol V4 panels into Insight, but you cannot edit programming, fetch review or control items until the panel is upgraded to V5, this is because the Insight comms task was introduced in V5 onward.
As for Port 0 connection, I cannot be 100% sure as I have only ever used wdirect and pcdirect with port 0, everything else has been through a UART.

It doesn't drop off the dialler, it holds it up...
as long as you change the PORT to 1, in your insight (ct001) once you have finished, then if the panel reboots for what ever reason, the dialler will not be affected, if its left to "IDLE" and the panel reboots that comms task becomes active and holds up the dialler, if POrt 0 is selected, then your panel wont dial until you attend site and change it or turn it off.
Also remb that ace have to be flagged in Imodem and Imodem CTask programmed to allow you to dial in.
Port 0 is certainly fine for TEMP connection while doing changes onsite,
I'd certainly advise you to do the basic course, its very worth while. (you might learn something) unlike all these so called "self trained technicians" out there.....
Goodluck
