    Default Strange Pixelation Problem

Started doing some good "soak testing" of my new CS setup and I have noticed a strange minor Pixelation problem.

It seems that when I am watching any FBO channels or the AO channel I find I get Picture Pixelation (1 or 2 seconds worth and to varying degrees) every 10 minutes or so.
There are no problems on any other channel.
It only happens on the Dream that has the card connected.
The problem does not show itself on a client dream sharing the card over the local LAN.

FYI I am using Gemini 3.6 NewCS1.31 & CCCam 2.04 with external Phoenix Reader.

Any ideas what this might be.

Try Gemini 4.10 & ccam204 or 2.05 should fix the problem

It seems that this problem is still happening.

I am only now using Gemini 4.2 and CCcam2.05 with Greywolf for the card reader/sharing.

Since my original post I did find out later that it was also happening on client DM500s.

Also tried a PLI image that z80 has worked with and posted details about. The PLI image actually pixelates worse ......

Does anyone have the same config as what I am using and not experiencing problems or vice versa?

Have you tried NewCS1.50? Also make sure you have au on for only one client or you'll get pixellation.

What type of card are you sharing?

Can you post your newcs config?

Try swapping the 500's around, make the client the server (faulty clone?)

Yes, I did try with NewCS 1.5, Running Grey Wolf now so there is no point posting the newcs config file ATM.

    Yes, I have swapped hardware.

Now setting AU on one unit could be the problem, but if I am using Grey Wolf where do I do this?

Note also that this seems to only happen on vertical channels such as FBO AO etc - If the AU was the problem you would think this would happen with all channels.

I had a very similar problem using a Fuxtel card, did the same as you, changed images, au etc.

I actually found pli iolite to be the best, however it still pixilated every now and then. Stopping the emm updates did fix the problem but then introduced the emm update problem

I then cut newcs and the external server out of the loop. Now have card in dreambox and use cccam 2.0.5 as the server. So far everything has be 100% for the las 4 days no hiccups at all.

I thought maybe something in the newcs software was not handling the emm updates correctly or some other hardware issue on the server.

Anyhow very happy with cccam (not sure if it will help).

    Cheers.

    Thanks Black Hole

I am interested in what you have found and will try it - It seems you may have isolated the problem.

What about the issue of the auto updating of the card ? I understand Grey Wolf is supposed to be the best?

Would you be able to post your server config file for CCcam 2.05 - I have not used CCcam as a server before so I will appreciate your help here as well.

    Many Thanks in Advance

Remember I am using an ND$ card.

Install cccam 2.0.5 and the cccam.cfg files if not already done.

You will need to edit the cccam.cfg files on the dm you want to use as a server and also the clients:

    The server cccam.cfg:
    add the following line/s

    F: user1 pass1
    F: user2 pass2

for each user you want to share the card.

Then in each of the clients cccam.cfg files add:

    C: serverIpAddress 12000 user1 pass1

Change the user1 pass1 to the appropriate username and password as selected in the 'F' lines.

The default port is 12000 so long as you have not changed it.

Place card in the dreambox you are using as a server and away you go.

All this and many other options are explained in the cfg file, however this should be enough to get u going.

    cheers.

Thanks Black Hole - I will try this on an NDS card soon, however my issue revolves around a whitey sharing either from a Phoenix on a serial port or via greywolf on an external PC server.

    A couple of questions:

I am curious about the default port number.
    1. If you want to change this what do you do?

    2. Also how would you use CCcam as a server if you are using a whitey off the DM serial port with a Phoenix reader?

    Many Thanks for your help

    Open your CCcam.cfg file

    Search for the line:
    SERVER LISTEN PORT : 12000

change it to desired port, save. don't forget to forward the port in your router and change the # in your client's C: line.
