    Default Solution 16plus install manual

Can anyone help me with a installation manual for a solution 16plus. Is it the same as a solution 64.

    thanks

    Hi

They are exactly the same appart from that some addresses aren't available in the 16. Mainly to do with zones (obviously) and area's. The rest is the same.

Hi Guys, new to this forum
Just bought a Solution 16+ of Ebay, thought I would be as straight following as following the manual on how to install it.
Got the kit and found that there is no Manual.

I install TV and computer networks myself, but have never come across an alarm system before.

Can anyone give me some info or installation manual to wire up a Solution 16+
    Info such as:
    - how PIR are wired
    - what cables goes where on the PCB in the control panel
    - where the AC and DC power goes into the PCB

    Any advice would be great!
I got the DIY bug and have spent the last 8 months fixing up my first home.
    Its time for an alarm.

The easiest way is to look in the Yellow Pages under Security Installers.

Then pick up the phone and dial the number.

Then open your wallet and pay the installer. Job done!

You are asking for help with the three easiest parts of an install. Have a close look at the PCB & 2 of your three questions will become obvious.

I wish you luck with your DIY endeavours

Thanks for your advice, might take it on when I am in my 70's and need a walking stick to get me around.

found the Solution 16 install manual online. has pretty good drawings of where all the componets goes. just need to read up a bit more on the EOL resistors and their purpose and i will be sweet.

tatpham, there are two versions of the install manual, one of them lightweight. Make sure you get the full-fat version.

Also, the manuals do assume some prior knowledge of alarm technology, including the purpose of end-of-line resistors, so do some wider reading, learn about it and then come back here for the hard questions.

yeah i noticed, i got stomped when i went to connect up the control panel and noticed that there is LANA and LANB on the PCB, the PCB has different area where the output goes, did a few more digging and I found the right diagram.

the 16+ has the PIR connected in series with the EOL resitors.

Alarm is now fully connected and working. 3 Quad PIR, 5 reed switches.
Thanks again for the feedback and help guys.

    Lightbulb

jus to add, took me a whole good day to climb through the ceiling to wire it all up and tested the alarm.

wouldnt recommend it to the ppl who are not compentent to traverse through their ceiling or have not had any prior knowledg of electronic. might do more harm then good. get a pro Alarm installer if this is the case.
