ok help needed , how would I fit an electric fuel pump to a positive earth car ?
also where would be the best place to attach the pwr wire ? the ignition switch or the oil pressure switch ?

I generally connect them to the ignition switch in a negative earth car and use a pressure regulator not to flood if the pressure is a little too high.
Dont forget to use fuses.
If its high volume/pressure a relay can be added.
Positive earth is something unknown to me.
A seperate power switch hidden can make a nice kill switch.
It depends on the pump type - some pumps will care which way around the 12V goes and others won't. Pulse-type pumps can have a back EMF snubber circuit with a diode, others use a variable-throw pump with clever electronics involving a Hall-Effect sensor - these types will likely require Negative Ground.
An investigation of the pump packaging or the appropriate website should give you the info.
it is an austin a30 , 1954 AS4 , the pump is an australian fedtro , it is a low volume , the caarb is an su as well
Here i just did a google of positive earth cars and found this nice write up on a conversion for a MG.
Interesting read, specially the fuel pump side of things.
