    Issue ive got is that there is a massive lag between teh DVR and computer across the network, like a 20 second lag. Any ideas what ive missed.

    It does however pick up in the log straight away that there has been motion

    Where are you accessing the DVR from? Remote site, or within the network?

    Do you have any security products on your machine? Zone Alarm, Norton etc?

    Should be 100Mb/s if your in the same IP range. Sounds weird.

    What's the specs of your machine?

    machine can handle it no problems, 3.4ghz p4 2 gig of ram etc. Just wondering if vista may be causing an issue.

    I left it on all night last night and came back to a green screen this morning.
    Its like it cant send the actual image and when it does it sends it in segments or packets i guess is probably a better word for it.

    Try this...

    START> type cmd (in "Start search")
    at the command prompt disable TCP Auto-Tuning using the following command;

    netsh interface tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled

    See how that goes, in the mean time drop a line to Pacom and see if the RAS is supported on the Vista Platform.

    Good stuff mate, I'm still getting my head around Vista, I had problems video streaming and found Vista's TCP auto tune was giving me ridiculous speed of 300-400kb/s, then ran the netsh command and now sitting over 10Mb/s transfer speed.
