    Default PS2 Slim

My Gf just brought a ps2 slip and wanted to know what is the best way to mod it.

There are a number of ways which i have read.

    1) swap disk
    2) mod chip
    3) other

which one is the best? I mostly want to play games on it and maybe have it playing Divx over the network.

    Model is 700x

Mod chip. A much simpler solution. No need to update to new versions to support certain games or feature.

ive just modded my ps2 slim using Free McBoot.

it is really easy to do and takes only a few minutes.

only downside to this is you gotta patch all your backups but it literally takes 1 second to patch and then burn.

Most people do not want the hassle to be honest, this is like a free memoir or whatever its called.

Chip is the easiest, most reliable and pain free path there is. It might cost a little more but its worth it.
