    Default ipbox 9000 connecting

    Hello ,
    i now have a 9000 which should be here in the morning !.

    i now have a query .

    do i need to connect 9000 to Pc via serial port (RS232)
    should it be null modem same as my humax 5400
    or do i need connect 9000 to wireless router Netgear Dg834pn via ethernet
    or do i need both connected
    which one does what ?

    You can do either, or all. Just depends what it is you are trying to do.

    i imagine the
    1st thing will be to put the latest software on the ipbox, presumably via rs232
    2nd sending the keys
    or possibly
    2nd installing such as mgcamd or whichever is best then
    3rd the keys
    AM I CORRECT IN THINKING THIS

    Although once again, it all depends on what it is your are trying to do? What are these keys? Keys for what?

    When your IP9000 arrives, open the box and pull out the contents. There will be a little booklet in there called a "User Manual".
    Give it a read, it has step by step instructions on how to connect to your new IP9000 STB.
    Or if you just can't wait that long, their web site has a downloadable "User Manual" and all other required loaders etc.

    The keys
    these are used with my humax 5400 this is the file that changes every other day (yeh yeh nudge nudge ) know what i mean.
    so i guess 9000 will be autoupdating etc.

    Good Luck with a great box
    It would pay for you to do some reading on the Dreambox at any forum or here. I think you will find a lot of similarities
