    Default Obama Wins

I'm calling it a landslide victory for the black guy.

They have turned out in such huge numbers to vote against the Republicans that they reckon the polling booth lines will still be there at 3 oclock in the morning.

    Ahhh...democracy at work...

Well done Yankees...you finally see the light and can now join the rest of humanity.

But you're economy is stuffed, your international standing is shot to pieces.

Let's see what you got to restore your credibility Americans.

I wonder if Johnnie Howard has phoned his good mate George Bush to have a whinge and a sook yet?

His first job should be to replace all those ageing nuclear warheads from the 60s and 70s, then we can feel a little safer

Smashed the election with 13 states yet to come.

I guess the Americans have had enough.

I doubt that George would remember him. "John Who?....Coalition of the willing?....whats that?"

A good result....I'd really love significant change there, but sadly I doubt it....

    Cheers

U.S. voters go to the polls on Nov. 4 to vote for a new president, but under the Constitution, the Electoral College actually elects the next president of the United States, not the popular vote.
No wonder they never got off their arses to vote in the previous elections.

Because a candidate could run up a big vote count in some states but lose others by narrow margins, the winner of the popular vote might not have the most electoral votes. The Electoral College has three times picked the candidate who lost the popular vote -- Republicans Rutherford Hayes in 1876, Benjamin Harrison in 1888 and George W. Bush in 2000.
Looks like The Electoral College had their pockets lined well this time round.

Thank ****. There might be something interesting in the news other than Obama crap , Obama's Grandma , Obama's Aunt etc etc.

I will say that I have never seen the media and hollywood push a candidate down peoples throats like they did with Obama. Joe Biden made so many blunders you couldnt count them , yet the smallest mistake from the Rebublican camp was continually pushed as negative front page news.

It will be interesting to see if Obama as a democrat continues to push the policies of the last democrat president Bill Clinton which is ultimately why the US and world economies are ****ed now. Unfortunately you cant tell socialists the blatantly obvious because they just cant see it.

Congratualations also go out to all those gays that will now be able to get married. It will be interesting to see if any attempt will be made to honor the endless promises Obama has made. I doubt it as most are piss in the wind rubbish. He's like a black version of Kevin Rudd.

Intelligeorge , yes , its a strange setup. Some states are worth more than others. As much as our system has its faults , I am glad we have it.

I must say, it was a very impressive first speech.

No um's or ah's, no paper to read from, delivered with all the right gusto, empathy and patriotism that money could buy.

Even if you do not support him, you need to give him credit for that delivery.

    I was impressed anyhow...

Any of us would be as good if we'd had his time rehearsing it.

    It is now:-

    339 Osaba
    159 McCain

It is the most significant landslide ever in US political history.
    (And they are still counting)

It is a clear message to the encumbent Republicans.

It is exactly what happened to Howard in Australia.

They both got the arse kicking they deserved.

It was very much North V's South and the overall vote is reasonably even so far. Point system aside , it will be interesting to see what the vote actually is. It is possible to have the majority of the population vote for someone else yet you the election , though I dont think this will be the case. It will be reasonably close though.

It was realistically an easy win for the democrats. All you need to do is target the states that get you the most points and spend a fortune on them. The Democrat money bag was almost endless ( anyone know how much they did spend all up ? ) and they really unloaded on the states that mattered.
