Ok... Usual do this with no problems..Got it working now, just had to recreate the dct file
However this time I am having issues.
1: PDA running Application TT7_910.9185
2: MAPS - Have both 815_2086 and 815_2059
3: META data

However I can not generate the dict file for some reason for either map...

Problem solved..FOUND THAT: The meta data had to be corrected in the Progs folder of the patching app.
Also found this.
Australia for example, PDA users can really only use 815.2059.
Different versions:
V815.2086 map is ASR enabled, NavCore 8.3x compatible only
V815.2059 map is not ASR enabled, PDA tomtom navigator 7.9x compatible
V815.2057 map is ASR enabled, NavCore 8.0xx compatible
Of these maps :
With navcore 8.204, you can use all 3
With navcode 7.900, you can use v815.2057 and v815.2059
With PDA 7.910, you can use only v815.2059

on my ONE XL i use v815.2057 and v815.2059 maps and have no trouble
with anything mapshare and update work fine
hey guys it has been a while since i was here i have tomtom one xl with the navcore 8.011 that was made buy the guys on ipmart site i have aus map 720-1838 running fine what is the latest map that works with one xl i have folowed the link in the thread and seem to have downloaded the aus 815-2086 but i can not get the tomtom to reconise it do i need a new navcore or is it not the map for one xl?
any help welcome
i do have the meta text needed and when i use the kegen for it it says its all good its just the tom tom that cant see it

Hope someone can help. I am currently running on my PDA TT v7.450 (9028) with Aust Map 720.1868. I take it from what has been posted that the only new version and map that I can upgrade to on my PDA is TT v7.910 (9185) with the Australian v815.2059 map - (is that correct?) - if it is what are the major differences between what I have and this latest PDA version/map?
I really appreciate the knowledge and assistance by all on this forum - it's a great source.

Thanks Puca for that rapid response - in another subject/thread on this site it indicated the only 815 PDA version Australian map is v815.2059, it also indicated that only .2057 & .2058 version maps have lane guidance & IQ routing (along with Voice recog) see details I have pasted below...
I hope what you say is right - how can I have that confirmed - I understand an easy way is for me to try and install etc but for me that's not the easiest way to confirm - for map v815.2059

ok, me not being a tech savy person, what do i need to put on new australian maps on a go720 and where do i get them? and can i put new maps on a sd card and use them from that?

how to use those Meta.txt files?
Please note I installed on another PDA the new version 7.9 along with the compatible map v815.2059 - I ran the same routes together and found little or no difference. The main difference being the number of side streets names listed on map of main route differed very slightly - the route duration was 1 or 2 mins different (over a 7 - 12 hr journey) again nothing really different. Did not notice and Lane guidance nor IQ - Without being told the specific differences between the old version of TT / old map I see no need to move to this TT 7.9 version & v815.2059 map unless someone can convince me otherwise - I'm keen to hear from anyone about the reason why I should / need to upgrade.
