Default Problems connecting to PS3 Online Gaming

    Hey Guys,
Just look for abit of help or ideas as to what the problem might be,

When trying to connect to online gaming on the ps3, particularly cod4 online, it keeps signing out and comes up with an error, This happens all the time very rare for it not to sign out of the game or the playstation network.
The error is just you have been signed out of the playstation network.

The ps3 is setup wirelessly now using a dlink modem/router, I'm guess this modem needs to be configured in some way? I have not configured it since connecting this to the ps3.
We have tried to connected to straight to the modem via ethernet cable still no luck.

Anyone else having the same problem? Could it be the modem?
Which modem is the best for online gaming and wireless connections?

    Thanks.

dlink modem might be your problem
there are no settings that need to be set on a half decent modem/router.
    no ports need openning/forwarding nothing...

secondly whats the error code your getting?

sonys great with this, just google it and i bet within 10seconds ull have a solution

Just a thought, but do you have a cordless phone connected?
If so, it will surely cause a disconnection and dropouts.

No we don't have a cordless.
This problem has only been happening for the last month or so, before that everything was fine.

Seem to have fixed the problem.
I had the wireless modem/router placed between a subwoofer and a printer and would not connect. Moved the modem/router away from these two and now works perfect and has been for about a week now.
If anyone is having the same problems try changing the location of your modem/router or moving it away from other devices.

    Thanks.
