    Default which mosc card?Gamma or m2plus ?

    hi folks
i want to buy a mosc card such as gamma or m2plus card.
i know that gamma has really excellent software support.
do you think when it would die ?i want to share it using CCcam with Nova.how much time will it work you think ? 1 year or 6 months or less?
other option is m2plus card for me.i want to use it with Canal digital on thor 1W.
how is software support for this card?it is good as well as gamma?
and again, how much time will it work you think ? 1 year or 6 months or less?(i know, nobody can know it exactly, but i want only a guess from you.i am really a newbie and i know nothing about life of that cards.)
    thanks for your interest;
    regards.

    137 days, 5 hours.

Of course, that just a guess.

You might get a better answer if you just phone Nova / Canal & ask them

At any extent, a gamma or a m2plus card is NOT a MOSC. They are wafer cards

MOSC is an Original Modified Smart Card. In other words, a proper subscription card issued by the providers, that as been 'modified' to receive extra services. One of the methods was by adding ChID's to the card.

It is difficult to do that these days due the extra encryption. Those commands are no longer sent clear & in the open.

    ok guys ,
maybe you dont understand me because of my bad english.
first of all, sorry for confusion.i thought mosc = wafer card.but it is not important for this topic.i am talking about gamma and m2plus card.
so my other quesitons are same.which will live longer?
    So,
at least , my idea is :
m2plus card has longer life than gamma card, because gamma card has been released about 1,5 years ago and m2plus card has been released only 7 months ago.
    that idea is true ?
    regards.
    edit :
    @Fernbay

i was one of fans' Alan Shearer and i love Newcaste FC.
my favoriite team is Besiktas in Turkey and our colurs are black-white,too.
    So say we all:
    black-white
    death-life
    cheers

You take a gamble which ever card you buy. Remember, there is no such thing as 'free' tv.

That's not quite true. If you live in the West you can get Multichoice on a Gamma. We can use sellers cards for a variety of Irdeto 2 encrypted services and these appear very similar to gamma plus cards in the way in which you program them here!

so should people not off help/suggestions to others in other countries if cards in the country they live in don't work? (even though I pointed out an example of working gamma's above)

What ever dude, at least you steer them in the right direction to suit their needs, True about Multichoice you can get it on the old Gamma cards and if you are far enought west as for the other Irdeto 2 encrypted services, unless you have the files for them its not going to help and i think the OS for these encrypted services are bit hard to find too. The only ones who have all this info as far as i know are the sellers. So in saying all that we are still stuck with cards that we can do little with, unless your in bed with a seller

Any of the gamma type cards need to be used in a phoenix. There was a report that a gamma works in the slot of a DM800.

i know it,also gamma card can be read the slot of dm800.i have a post about that.
but there is some setting for gamma with cccam..i know it.
i wonder m2plus can be worked with cccam and any adjustment is required?or it works directly without any settings or extra lines in cccam.cfg ?

you need to configure cccam to look at the serial port. Here is what you need to put into your cccam.cfg

    SERIAL READER : /dev/tts/0
    CAMKEY: /dev/tts/0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    CAMDATA: /dev/tts/0 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    TRY ALL CHIDS : /dev/tts/0

depending on your reader some need the pheonix at the send of the serial reader line so it looks like this

    SERIAL READER : /dev/tts/0

Let us know how you go.
