    Default Which Chip and where?

    Hi guys,

I've gotten myself a Wii (thx Blue) and now it's time to chip it. I think it's an older model, serial LAH 101xxxx.

What's the benefits of the more expensive chips? All I really want to do is play my backed up games. Can you back them up via the Wii?

I see you can get soldered on or "clip" versions. Are the clip's reliable enough?

Would a WiiKey/2 be good enough?

Lastly, if I went the soldered way, where in SE Melb could I get it done? Anyone on here recommended?

If its 1015 or lower then u can still use a Wii-key V1...will save u a few $$$ & works just fine, but doubt there will be any updates on it. Otherwise pay a bit extra & get a Wiikey V2 which is fairly new. Or you can pay a bit more & get something like a D2pro which is FULLY updateable, but u wont get any other extra's,ie wont play more games etc, than a Wiikey V1.

I prefer soldering as opposed to clips but they do work ok.....worth the extra few $$$ to get it soldered IMO

Serial is 10193xxx... I guess that changes my options?

Bugger...looks like this serial may have cut pins. No clip for me then? soldered install?

    edit: I think I may just go a D2Pro D2E or a WiiKey2

Now to find a local installer...

Mate just get a wiikey version 1, cheaper and functionally the same. Your just blowing money for the more expensive chips. Cut pins are not a problem...probably ends up taking about the same amount of time to install as a nine wire, but the cost of the chip is a LOT less.
