Default New HD Linux based receiver

    Hi People,
Found this specification whilst surfing. This is for a twin tuner linux box which is supposed to run CCcam. The cost is around 300 euros and expected to be on sale on 17 November. There is also a single tuner version for approximately 260 euros.

    Item Description

The Premium HD AZbox belongs to a small group of receivers that combine high-definition, the traditional functions of tuning in radio and TV channels with other applications based on internet connection and your hard disk of 160 gigabytes or 320 gigabytes at home (you can put another disc the size you need), because we speak of a "media center" that is actually able to meet all our needs in a single device.

wow is that all it's features?? lol

That seems like a very competitive product for the DM800. Can't wait to hear a bit more about it.

These boxes are being discussed on European boards but information seems to be a bit thin. Sat-pimps has a thread with someone who says they are testing a unit and it definitely works with CCcam etc, so we might be looking at a new competitor to the mythical DM8000

Still pricey tho... Hopefully the price will drop & the number of channels will rise

If it works with CCcam it should have an ethernet port

I thought that too but the flyer Supermega posted doesn't refer to it, even the "Connections" doesn't mention any network port

Don't think they are actually on sale yet. There seems now to be some concern over whether it will run full CCcam or just client but it has been supposedly tested with newcs. I think its a wait and see at the moment.

Hi People, I'm giving this thread a bump. New info says that both the models can be used as twin tuner with the difference being the premium has wireless LAN and can have internal hard drives. Some reasonable reports coming in about media player capabilities and possible sharing ability. Cost of the Elite model about 290 Euro incl tax. Available now through Spanish and German dealers.
