or you can just install a quad LNB for up to 4 stb's and eliminate the multiswitch altogether.

thanks fandtm, tried them, but they said they don't have any? they are the ones who told me to try the qld mob.
can i ask another dumb question! my new fox point is around 15m from the dish, maybe a tad longer. i tried to join the cable (where i put the slitter that doesn't work) to tie me over till i get the dual lnb, so i can at least watch it in the lounge room. but it won't work! i made another join in the roof when i ran the cable.... could this be the problem? 2 joins? i get the menu, but says "no satellite signal is being received" very frustrating!

    thanks in advance

should connect the cables with a straight through connector until you get the dual lnb. Also have a look through the yellow pages for installers, a mate had his dish re-aligned new lnd and cable run done for $100 couple weeks ago in liverpool
dont say linux if i wanted it id install it

If you have joined cable incorectly, you are going to be in strife, no signal at all.. Id start with a proper joiner on all points you have cut.

might be the problem, they are just f type connections, with male & female plugs screwed on. i will run the cable from the 1st join straight to the lnb which may help (fingers crosed). fandtm.... if you could ask your mate for the guys details would be much appreciated.

That would be it, not real familiar with Fox boxs.... I can use the remote to change the channels with the buggers but, never dibbled on there installtion side.. Every other box yeah, just not foxtel, ive never really been in a foxtel area, always austar etc

its not hard though just look for lnb settings, they usually change between 11300,10700 and universal
