Exclamation USB Thumbdrive ['Application not found']

If I try and DD click on a thumbdrive, mp3 player or tomtom through My Computer I get this message Application not found". But if I right click and "Open" I can access the files

Any Idea on a fix ?

Set explorer to view hidden files and look on your removable devices.
there is a hidden file called auto something, open it for editing, the file that is referred to in here is missing.

Your auto something file can just be deleted if you wish, it will stop your removable media from auto opening
hope that makes sense, I in a hurry.

    ok
    file is from memory autorun.inf
Sometimes virus will use this file to run themselves to infect other pc's
maybe post the contents of this file here.

    This is what fixed it

    solution:

first go to run then write " regedit" that is registry

    then find " ctrl+f"

in this box write "mountpoints2" and delete it ......

then again press "ctrl+f" again find mountpoints2 until all these files are not deleted

then u will see ur problems is solved................

    AND

    1Open Start >> Run and type regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
