But until that f*ckheaded birds landed on top of that dish and startin' shitting on it and 'worn' mainly almost all over the wider 120cm dish ! That usually happens during in early morning of daily basis, as I can't stop them and tried to slingshot at 'em. Some had flew away but, still, the bloodist idiot becky things returned and land on it and continues shitting on it. When the shits dried on it and it is rather difficult to remove it by swap clothes and water, and the Methylated Spirits won't help. I am looking for the worthwhile solution how to kick mugger birds' arses outta from my 120cm dish. Well, do you have experience with that problem, and how to prevent them from grippin' their clawes on my dish again ???

I have seen a friend do his complete fence with cat gut along the top about 2cms off the fence - nice and tight - works well, Tacnals idea would work well

godzilla's point with the compressed air device is probably another way of discouraging the birds - just get 1 and tie it on the dish

Hey this thread is getting better. Maybe it will beat the "Gone Again" thread where its mostly about is there a fix for my (insert brand of) set top box yet.
Another thought would be to spray the dish with scotchguard. Clean the dish first then apply the spray. That way any crap should slide off easily.

Have a sprayer bottle full of petrol, with a string actuator and a piezo ignitor.
Birds will not come back when their mates are lying there fried.

Nah...you can't just keep giving silly remarks....keep on topic...

Perhaps you could put some wiper blades on the dish Chance?..

Attach one of those sprinkler hoses to the top of the dish..

Keep turning the dish so it gets an even coat all round.

Attach a few volts to the dish...jumpy jumpy birdies.

don't worry about the birds...the rain/hose will fix things eventually.

Don't forget to tell us which options your going to use...but please, use a few commas etc so we can take a breath between your sentences.

Just a thought i had while outside and about to throw a bird net over my plum and cherry tree.

The local nursery sell strips of mirror finish metallic strips that move with the wind. Apparently the glittering light reflecting makes the birds uneasy and they stay away from the trees.

Could throw some of them around the dish, it should piss them off.

Dont know how well it works but green's prefer the strips as there bird friendly unlike nets where they may become trapped.

go down to the local nursery and buy a plastic owl, guaranteed to work. The petrochem industry use them under their truck loading areas and where ever they are not a bird in sight........

Yee, I have to choose that answer above so preciously. It would work effectively only if the strip being shining by the sun - It might won't work when the weather is too cloudy . . . I'll report it here after installed the mirror strip and see how if it does work well. Many thanks to other forum members' answers mentioned here in this page and previous page, too.
