    Default foxtel IQ, backup recorded movies?

    hi, im getting IQ installed tommorow and too my understanding it has an 80gb or so hard drive inbuilt too store all of your recorded movies, im wondering if there is anyway too backup stuff you have collected once your hard drive is full and its erasing time?

    The movies are stored encrypted on the hard disc so there is no way to transfer them directly from hard disc.

    You have to connect a DVD recorder or VCR or PC card to the iQ, and play the content on the iQ whilst recording it on the recording device.

    it also is macrovision protected

    the iq has 2 outputs
    run 1 to a dvd recorder you can record everything except box office and main
    they have macrovision but you can bypass this with a video enhancer from jcar

    so im assuming a pc capture card would work the same way? ( i have no idea about macrovision or what it does.)
