    Mate has a setup of

    Telstra internet
    Speedtouch modem
    to a
    Lynksys router (without voip)
    to the
    BF unit
    to a season

Can any one run through the settings for this so a dumbarse like my self could try and talk him through it LOL

As there are a awful lot of the same settings on each of the above units LOL

    cheers

the port forward must be done on the modem and router

    eg: bf = 192.168.1.123 port 50000

so port forward port 50000 to 192.168.1.123

and considering he will also be using a dyndns in it set

    dmz = 192.168.1.123

also make sure the router is on the same sub net and ip range of the modem because they are different breeds they come factory on different settings

what model speed touch and linskys

If he has the BF on his network he doesn't need to port forward anything. But do you want to connect to his BF from a remote location? Is he the one with the server? I see the master has answered above!

its a mess...he obviously has the single port speed touchpro...

    forget the dmz.

just go into the speed touch modem...probably 10.0.0.138
and set the natp settings up...it will be as clear as mud.

port forward port 50000 to the ip of his bf430

i use one myself...most reliable modem i have ever used.
