Any reports on v3 in a purple cam at this stage.
i would be much happier updating my own cards as it is a hobby and it would probably be much easier than trying to find a seller that isnt paranoid about AFP wire tap's every time it goes down
Any reports on v3 in a purple cam at this stage.
It was a purple that I've always used that wouldn't fire up my rejuvinated whitey which had an emk hit and all!!
I just had a quick wank with the cams i have and now the cards running it's working the purple 2.21a that I upgraded to 2.26b. I have a 2.26d which wouldn't show pics and the freecams I have both brought up pics faster than the purple. But I don't watch tv on cams for long periods so i don't know how ling they will leep card updated for.

I am amused when people refer to the use of a whitey as a hobby, updating etc. Perhaps in the days of the Goldie this may have been true when you knew how the system worked and you were able to program your own card from scratch and learn how the Irdeto encryption system operated. However in these days of the Whitey this is no longer possible as it is apparent that apart from the Gamma Team no one else knows how these cards work or are able to attempt to create a working card from scratch.
Therefore any person that has a whitey including myself are using them to watch Tv and not for the challenge of the so called hobbyist.
If this is not true, start a thread on people creating goldies to watch Aurora.
You can bet it won't have over 1000 posts and 1000's of views.
Just my 20 cents worth.
Without the sellers No one would have a whitey and you wouldn't be able to continue enjoying your " hobby "
Exactly B4L. I've watch maybe 2 movies since the asstar counter measures started. Been tinkering and reading a bit. And if I wanted to just watch pics I would put my card in a cam or a box. I have plans this week to work on my c band plans.

The hobbyists here may not know how the white card works however they get involved in the projects by making their own loggers, writers ,seasons ,modding receivers experimenting with BF units and dream boxes and basically learning a whole lot...they may also posses a white card....not to wach tv but to experiment so they dont ruin their sub card.....Yes most hobbyists here do pay for a sub...
In the goldy days ,people achieved and learned quite a bit with the help and giudance of more knowleadgeable people and sellers because the goldys were fairly cheap however times have changed and there is no more help for the white cards as there is a mozza to be made.
The real hobbyists here would have been better off without the whities or sellers because even basic sharing with a subbed card or putting a sub card in any other decoder has now been disrupted........
And ...drysa.....with 8 posts under your belt youre definitely not into the hobby, you must be a wacher or maybe a spy.........LOL.
yeh, what he said
Leroy
SPY!! where? who? better get the hell out of here....lol

Gemini V4 series, not sure exactly.
its not the latest.
So Crypto how many posts you have recently made determines whether or not your opinion is considered. Perhaps you should take into account how many times the data has been lost with crashes.
I not sure if you were around but my account has been in existence since the CD days, but perhaps you don't know what I am referring too, but then again you might as you are a mega poster.
You would be surprised what I know and how many people I have assisted over the years with info, it is just that in these current times the ability to create and continue to run a whitey is not up to you but relies on a third party writing and supplying any files to update your and my card. Without these so called sellers we would not have a whitey and it would not continue to run so that you can continue to experiment.
Tell me that you reprogrammed or updated your whitey on your own without any help from a seller or a person that has received the info from a seller and then I will accept that you have a whitey for the " hobby "

You can still have a whitey for the hobby and continue to research and experiement to get to that point where you consider it a hobby. Also there is more to the hobby than white cards, it one facet. But it still requires a certain amount of knowleged to keep it running, especially in the current circumstances. I don't think collecting spoons is a hobby but some may just collect, some restore, and some may even create their own. But hey each to his own!

I disagree.
I have no issue with your personal knowledge or the fact that you have been around for a long time.
But just because somebody hasn't yet worked out how the whole thing works doesn't mean that they aren't interested in it as a hobby. There are people trying to understand it, writing software, looking at the maths and the encryption, etc - just for the fun of it - and that is exactly the same as in the golden days. Difference now is that is a hell of a lot more complex.
Of course many who have a whitey are just in it to watch TV, but I disagree with your assertion that nobody with a whitey is a hobbiest.
And for the record, I don't have a whitey!

Energy is the father of creation
if anyone in Vic can help me or knows of someone to help me with a V3 please let me know!
My seller has gone underground and I don't think the hobbit will be back any time soon!
And before I get flamed for posting such a stupidly obvious post, I just forked over a lot of beans for my setup no more than 1 month ago!!! its now down and I'm out of beans, the only way I can get my beans worth is to get it running again, I trust you can respect that...
