Tried it in Strong 4653X with software vs 1.17 May 20, 2008 and is working fine
Just thought I would start a fresh thread with regards to the V3 that has just been released and any issues which may or may not be associated with the rebirth....
I have put it into an Arion and she works fine after a couple of minutes to update. Into a Hummy and she says Invalid. Play around with it abit by re-inserting and jiggling until I get the 'Accepted' message, then a couple of minutes to update and she works fine.
Into my pheonix reader, running GW midnight, with a Hummy & 2 dreams on a local LAN, all is good.
Have had reports of the cards not working in a Supernet, but I suspect this will be because of the 'card-marriage' thing, so the firmware upgrade from before should get it going again. Will try when I get my hands on a Supernet to play.
Have also had a report of V3 not working in Strong (suspect it is a 4653x). Comes up with Invalid card, although the card works fine in my pheonix/GW setup. Might be firmware related so will have a play once I get my hands on the Strong.
Anyone else...? Openbox? Dreamax? Nokia? Emtech? Mediastar? DM's? Dion? Any other boxes out there....?
Also, any of issues or findings with regards to V3, we may as well put down here.....
Cheers All...

Working well in Openbox, Arion and Strong 4568x, would suggest that there is no reason why they won't work in a box if they were working previously. I suspect the only issues are people mucking around with different firmwares, and or any damage caused by the recent "workarounds" like damaged card readers, or cooking their cards.
I have to ask the obvious: how did you guys get hold of a v3 so soon? I can't even get a v2

From a seller maybe ??

Is any of these updates able to be put on my old Gamma card with the old OS or is that wishful thinking ?
how much did the v2-v3 update cost?
Always good for a laugh this board
Works in Humax (all Models) Strong (all models) DreamMax 400, Manhatten, Arion

Ohhh bugger it, too many to list - It works in everything I've thrown at it.
works in toaster
I think you do sellers a grave disservice. I believe that many are benevolent and public spirited individuals who aren't charging to upgrade the cards. They go out of their way to help others and so expose themselves to unnecessary risk. Often they are the victims of entrapment, and by trying to assist members of this forum they find themselves facing prosecution by unwittingly dealing with employees of the providers. I thought the days of entrapment had been curtailed. It seems not. You go to a public toilet and are propositioned by a stranger. You respond, only to find that you are dealing with a police officer. That is entrapment, and I am under the impression that state police departments no longer use such morally repugnant measures.
I don't think that any of us would complain if summoned before the courts after careful scrutiny and the painstaking collection of evidence. The providers are morally bankrupt because instead they rely on entrapment, by masquerading as members of a hobby, when in fact they have infiltrated this membership to serve a cohort of mismangers who refuse to face up their own failings. If pay TV has been compromised then these managers have only themselves to blame. They chose the encryption system. They were free to move to another system if they suspected that it had been hacked. Instead these moral cripples hide behind the skirts of the AFP and commonwealth legislation to protect their less than honest dealings. The providers have prostituted themselves on the altar of commercialism and want the police and courts to protect their failings. They aren't intelligent enough to devise a smart card that can't be compromised so they expect federal and state law enforcement to do the job for them and the general public to pay the bill. They are despicable in the methods they choose to protect their commercial interests, and they are despicable in the creeping encroachment of advertisements into a domain in which subscribers pay in the hope of avoiding the crass commercialisation that is the hallmark of FTA televison.
The providers don't deserve our sympathy and they don't deserve the community's support through the police or courts.
well said. there should be a smiley for standing ovation
You talk about V3, I'm still on V2 and still going fine.
I was in the same boat as you guys, last week it went down and no matter what I threw at it nothing would resurrect it.
Normally throw it in a purple cam and I get pics shortly after and then back into the phoenix.
But this time nothing, until tuesday night when I left it in the cam. every now and then I would get pics for 10-15secs.
I tried taking it out right after I got pics, put it in the phoenix, but nothing.
(by the way have a DM7000, running CCcam_2.09 with the B: line unhashed),
So I started to play with different cams. DL CCcam_2.0.10 + Newcs 1.62
Played with the newcs.cfg file a bit till I got it running.
Still running, time will tell. Before the updates without the B: line card would drop out every 2 days, until it got update, manually or via Crond.
So for those who like to play,

Well said...fudda.....I agree with most of what you have said except for the part that the sellers are benevolent and public spirited individuals.
They are only in it for the money and not for the hobbby.......as a matter of fact most of them wouldnt know anything about the so called hobby. Files and fixes can be spread in many ways via the internet with complete anonimity however we dont see this happening because the sellers have to make more money.......so dont feel as they the sellers are doing the public any fovours ...because they are not.
Maybe I overstate my case, but the few I know are long time members of this site. They have seen Optus firmware come and go, goldies come and go and card sharing hit the deck. Sure they make a quid out of what they're doing, but certainly aren't fabulously rich. They'd help you before charge you. Can you say the same for the providers?
