    Default Which alarm panel

    Hi all

Have had a quote for house alarm install

One alarm bloke said only the Bosch to use and the sparky who also does alarms said he can use whatever but likes the DAS panels.

What panel is better or even user friendly

The DAS or Bosch and why?

I need 6 sensors hard wired and garage/storeroom seperate to house so wireless.

    Any and all advise appreciated

pretty similar in features really with the basic solutions like 880's and the NX's.

Solution 16+ have a few more features.

Bosch 16+ with LCD code pad.

    Features:
    - 16 zone with programmable EOL and pulse count
    - Reports in CID, SIA, Email, SMS, Domestic and Voice
    - DTMF Arming/Disarming
    - Proximity reader built into keypad (optional)
    - 48 users with variable pin length 1 ~ 8 digits
    - In premises wireless compatible
    - Swinger Siren and Swinger Dialler
    - Dual Entry Timers

Doesn't get any more user friendly than that.

    Cool

A bit like asking which is the best car. I personally recommend the Bosch Ultima as being perfect for you requirements

Sparkies like the DAS panels 'cause they have big screw terminals and are very simple to install. Most of the defaults work in most cases because they're basic and have few features. The wireless gear is expensive and I don't think that it is particularly effective or reliable. They're cheap.
Alarm installers like Bosch because they are feature rich as described above, easy to program and they are very reliable.
Customers like Bosch because the Solution 16+ has very aesthetic code pad design and the graphics display plain English messages for the end user. The built in Prox Reader is a discreet way for my elderly customers to have code-free access without carrying yet another remote. Lower end Bosch panels are still more feature rich than NXs and are just as cheap but more reliable.

To look at it another way, you said "user friendly"

Bosch keypad arming - (arm) (enter)
    disarming - pin no# (enter)

Nx keypad arming - pin no#
    disarming - pin no#

Therefore the Nx would be more user friendly. LOL

Yep thats one way ... best way would be
code + on for arm or just push and hold the on button
    code + off for disarm

Even better get the prox token and optional prox keypad and just swipe your token in front of the keypad for both of and on. Every single customer thats seen that feature has said "Gimme that!!!!"
