Thanks mate, will add this one to the collection...
I just get a new box....LOL
hey z80 - can I have your old boxes then ??
good job mate
Thanks 666
Problem with the clones is they don't have the Jtag connections as shown in pic
even the real dm500 doesnt have the connections as shown
im trying to jtag a 500, i have a CAS3+ and the boot loaders from this site, but cant find the 500 connection diagram, can anybody please help
cheers
here is the jtag point for a 500, the din connector is for the rear rs232 socket, and the jtag point is just under it
using the circuit diagrams (cheers ) ive managed to find the 7 jtag connection points, but am unsure how to procede
Many people have tried and failed. Or at least failed to share.
Let us know if you are even able to connect to the jtag port. Also useful is weather your box is conpletly dead. any comms on RS232. I have a box that does o/p a few strings on serial but then locks up at the linux booting part. Dreamup will not connect to it. So I have tried to find the above info and failed to get it to work
Keep us posted
i have NOTHING at all via the rs232 port, ive even tried hyperterminal with every possible baud rate witn not a single flicker of live, the box powers up though, just a single green light
ive now taken to mapping the pins of the CAS3 to see what changes when the dreambox icon is started, iv found that some switch to ground and some change to 3.3v
one thing i did find, is that point1 on the dreambox is capable of quite a nasty shock when powered up lol, it even caused the connected PC to crash as well when i had it
ill keep you updated if i find out anything further
dd
the link to dreamboxbootloader says file not found
thanks peter
