Hey, I've been looking at putting a keypad ignition system into a car. The car is a 1990 Mazda Astina 323 (yeah I know crap car, not mine).
I've found a few kits and things for keypad immobilisers but havent seen one that can actually start the car. Does anyone know if it is possible/a good idea (im thinking it may make the car less secure rather than more secure).
I am a 4th year computer engineering student so I should be able to work out the electronics etc but I dont really have much idea about how ignition systems or immobilisers work so any information is appreciated.
ps. I was a member on here bfore but I think my account got deleted due to inactivity.

Ah ok, I thought it was a bit odd, It wasn't that long since I logged in.
Thanks for the link, that sort of thing looks good. Seems to be a immobiliser + starter system in one. Pity its a US site and they dont have stock.
